Finally dotations for LFA

The first compensatory contributions for farming in less favourable areas (FLA) should start to come in farmers’ account. The effort of the Ministress of Agriculture Milena Vicenová is to pay all kinds of support provided this year as quick as possible. From the half of November farmers will have received decisions on disbursements of these pivotal payments which represent 8,8 billion crowns in total. An exact rate of this dotation per hectare will be published by the Ministry of Agriculture at the beginning of November, so in advance considerably than the EU requires (till November 31). The fund will start to distribute the financial means in frame of the uniform payment per acreage (SAPS) immediately from the 1st December as the European Union’s rules determine.

Study: Climatic changes can decrease economic growth as much as by fifth

Changes in climate can lead to decrease of global growth as much as by a fifth and can cost 3,68 billion pounds (155,4 billion crowns) if the world does not approach to energetic actions. It results from a report which the reporter station BBC cited on its web pages today. The study was worked out for the British Minister of Finance Gordon Brown by a team of experts led by the economist Nicholas Stern. He warned that for steps which should prevent the impacts of climatic changes it is necessary to expound a percent of the total gross domestic product, so roughly 184 million pounds (7,8 billion crowns). If the world is inactive, as many as 200 million people can become refugees because their home will be flooded or will be in areas hit by damaging drought, the study asserts.

MZe will suggest compensation of damages from summer floods for 223 mil. CZK to government

Roughly 223 million crowns should go for compensations of damages which were caused by this year’s summer floods in agriculture and forest and water management. Consequences of the high water were in total expressed in numbers for 260 million crowns. They should be compensated from 50 percent in agricultural growths or fish to 100 percent in case of the Agricultural Water-Management Administration. The proposal will be put forward to the government by the Ministry of Agriculture on Wednesday. The biggest part of damages from summer floods, roughly for 135 million crowns, falls on state enterprises of the drainage area. They should got for compensation, according to the proposal, about 128 million crowns. The second biggest sum, 55 million, should go to the Agricultural Water-Management Administration. MZe recommends compensation from 95 percent with other six million the damage to water-management property of Lesy CR.

Drinks Union harvested hops, now it will process it for beer production

The beverage groups Drink Union from Ústí nad Labem uses for beer production its own hop which grows in ten-hectare hop-garden in Děčany in Louny region. This year’s crop of almost seven tons of hops will be dried now and processed in granules in the coop Chmelařství Žatec, Petr Kozák, the technologist of the group informed the CTK. According to him Drinks Union is the only beer producer which grows the own hops. The company Drink Union is the fourth biggest domestic beer producer and the biggest Czech beer exporter in Germany.; its mark Zlatopramen is the most sold eleven-grade beer.
