Policemen guard hunts

Huntsmen have got to use to checks of alcohol and documents; they use to have everything all right. Strakonice region – South-Bohemian huntsmen are more careful than in the past. Before hunts hardly anybody dare to drink alcohol. Policemen check hunts at random in all regions and ask them to breathe. In Saturday morning Strakonice policemen set off to check three hunts in Blatná region. However, ecological activists argue that policemen should better check huntsmen also after the hunts: what actually they shot and if there is not a protected piece among hunted animals.

Public opening of envelopes has finished

In total envelopes of all 113 applicants of selective procedures were opened in public. Today the State enterprise Lesy CR finished opening of envelopes of the selective procedure applicants for realization of growing and harvesting activities and supplies of wood assortments for 2007. In total 113 subjects applied for tenders in the regular term. 933 offers was submitted for particular partial commissions. Above all representatives of entrepreneurs seeking for commissions participated in public process of opening of envelopes. Beside them also representatives of biggest entrepreneurial associations in our republic – SPLH and ˙APLH controlled the opening of envelopes; further also a representative of supervisory board of Lesy CR and a representative of trade union of DLV.

Food-producers dislike increasing tangle of regulations which they should conform to. “All the time we fight with bureaucracy, Brussels one and our, and we are fed up with it”, declared the President of Food Chamber Jaroslav Camplík at a meeting with journalists today. According to Chamber regulations should be simplified and it would be desirable to give more work and means to education of consumers. However, the Ministry of Agriculture defends that it has to react to the EU regulations. “Certainly we don’t endeavour to go over the EU regulation frame, we have to respect them. The EU legislative is still moving, so also the CR has to react to changes”, Tá˙a Králová, the spokeswoman of the Ministry of Agriculture reported to it.

Cars harms but state and Union support them

A considerable part of public money aims at transport projects which develop at least ecological kind of transport – by the road. The Czech Republic exports annually tens of thousands tons apples and imports other tens of tons of this fruit. A similar situation is in beef meat – thousands tons wander abroad and other thousands return back. Most of it is carried by tracks. Just growing motorism and heavy vans contribute significantly to the fact that last year there was air polluted with small dust elements and carcinogenic hydrocarbons in a third of territory. A balance report of the Ministry of Environment on ecological situation in the republic already for several times warned of deteriorative atmosphere also due to increase of car transport.
