Setuza about execution: Court was biased
Today Setuza owners impeached a decision of the court which sent an execution to the firm. It is said that the decision was made suspiciously fast. Setuza impeaches even also independency of the court and it entered an objection for its unfair prejudice. “According to our opinion there was an intervention in the court and it acted according to it”, Zden˙k Šmejkal, the vice-chairmen of board of M.L.Moran said at today’s press conference.
CR wants postponement of introduction of criteria in agriculture
The Czech Republic welcomes prolongation of system of areal payments SAPS for farmers in new member states for two years, however, it wants a postponement of European Commission’s requirement to keep ecological criteria which other EU countries have to keep in agriculture. It results from a speach of Czech Ministress of Agriculture Milena Vicenová at today’s meeting of ministers of EU agriculture in Brussels.
Vietnam supermarkets will come
A new go-ahead player should appear in the inland retail market. According to Czech Business Weekly Vietnamese businessmen want to form two new chains and to sell mainly in smaller towns. “Meanwhile I have not heard that something similar would be formed, however, it is not a bad idea”, Michal Ševera from the company Incoma Research reported for Deník.
Increase of consumption tax for beer could be lower, according to EU
According to the EU increase of consumption tax could be far lower in the end than Czech brewers expected with fears. Originally Brussels proposed increase of minimal consumption tax by 31 percent which would mean roughly 30 hallers in Czech case. However, according to CTK source Finns submitted a proposal now which in beer counts on increase by 4,5 percent; in some other spirits stays at the original level. It is dealt with the second proposal of Finnish presidency which should lead to a final compromise. The first proposal did not succeed despite the fact that Finns eliminated beer completely from it. However, at a negotiation of EU ministers of finances Scandinavians opposed it. According to their words they fight this way against excessive consumption of alcohol.
