Almost hundred thousand pieces of poultry was killed in Korea

South-Korean offices ordered killing of 96 000 pieces of chickens and ducks and other will follow due to occurrence of bird flu on the farm in South-West part of the country. Poultry is positive in the virus of bird flu H5N1; about 6000 pieces of poultry has died at short notice. The afflicted farm lies approximately 250 kilometers southwards from the metropolis Soul on the line of migratory birds which can be a source of the infection. South-Korean Ministry of Agriculture wants to kill 236 000 pieces of poultry in total and vague number of other animals, as pigs and dogs, till Thursday owing to fears of spread of the disease in the area. South Korea was afflicted with the virus of bird flu mostly in 2003 – 2004 when 400 000 pieces of poultry tainted with in this country. At that time offices let kill over five million birds.

Ministress Vicenová wants to change supervisory board of Lesy CR

The Ministress of Agriculture Milena Vicenová wants to change four or five members of a nine-member supervisory board of the state enterprise Lesy CR. “An audit has found out that the Ministry as a founder of enterprise doesn’t use sufficiently a possibility of check which the supervisory board gives it”, Táňa Králová, a spokeswoman of the Ministry said to CTK. According to her, the organ occupation should be less political and more lawyers and economists should sit in it. “If the Ministress come to a conclusion that personal changes are essential in the supervisory board, it is her full right and competence and we will respect it”, František Koníček, the general manager of Lesy ČR said it to CTK. He noticed that the supervisory board is according its status an inspection body which expresses its opinion also of strategic intentions of the enterprise.

Agra insurance company wants to get 10 % of farmer insurance market

Agra insurance company, Czech branch of Österreichische Hagelversicherung, wants to get roughly a tenth of farmer insurance market till the end of next year. It is specialized just on insurance of farmers and recently it has come to Czech market. It offers insurance of crops. Representatives of the branch and the mother Hagelversichterung at today’s meeting with journalists reported that Agra’s aim for next year is to insure about 50 000 hectares. According to analyses about one third of agricultural enterprises and the same share of land is insured in the Czech Republic.

Greenpeace: Environment pollution is blamed also for reproduction problems

Activists of the ecological organization Greenpeace protested against Czech position to European chemical policy in front of the Ministry of Environment today. They assert that pollution of the environment entails also reproduction problems – therefore ecologists brought also samples of sperma to the office to warn of the problem. Greenpeace members in costumes of nurses and an undertaker unrolled slogan banners “We want the future without poisons and irresponsible officers” and “Final solution of Czech issue ” in front of the government building. “Mostly they emphasize economic arguments whereas they miss out ecological connections. Pollution of the environment increases as well as reproduction problems. There is a threat of Czech race suicide”.
