European Commission will approve Strategy of Rural Development of the Czech Republic

During a Friday meeting with the Ministress of Agriculture Milena Vicenová the director of rural development programs in the European Commission Antonis Constantinou complimented the Czech National Strategy for Rural Development. A spokeswoman of the Ministry Táňa Králová informed on it. It is dealt with one of two key documents which should enable to the CR to draw as much as 13 milliard crowns yearly from the EU means in 2007-2013. On this occasion the director Constantinou handed over a letter to the Ministress Vicenová where he confirmed adoption of our National Strategy for Rural Development by the European Commission.

EU reduced import of milk, meat and animals from Romania and Bulgaria

European Union experts dealing with food safety limited import meat, milk and animals from Bulgaria and Romania to other EU countries to the 1 st January next year when both countries will become members of the Union. Bulgarian companies which had a permit to export meat and milk products in other EU countries will have to wait at least one year according to new rules. Expert approved also that Romanian and Bulgarian organizations which processes animal products from the EU countries will not be allowed to export this goods in other EU countries.

Project “Development of Countryside in Program Period 2007-2013 in context of CAP EU reforms”

The project “Development of Countryside in Program Period 2007-2013 in context of CAP EU reforms” has been finished successfully. IREAS, o.p.s. (the Institute for Structural Policy, ) terminated successfully realization of the project “Development of Countryside in Program Period 2007-2013 in context of CAP EU reforms”. An aim of the project was increase in informedness of special and laic public on problems of rural development in the next program period. The project was realized with a financial support of the Office of the Government of the CR in frame of realization of the Conception of Informing on European Affaires in the CR.

According to MZe estimation agriculture will show a profit seven to nine billion CZK this year

Agriculture should show a profit of seven to nine billion crowns this year, similarly as in previous two years. It results from an estimation of the Ministry of Agriculture. According to the Office takings of farmers will obviously decrease roughly by three percents, especially due to this year’s fall of production. Acompensation should be increase in dotations in agriculture by about a tenth. In the opinion of the president of the Agrarian Chamber Jan Veleba it is not a favourable development because farmers become more and more dependent on dotations.
