Government dealt with situation about leaving of company Eastern Sugar from Czech Republic

The Ministress of Agriculture Milena Vicenová informed the government at today’s meeting on steps which her resort takes in connection with prepared leaving of the sugar industry company Eastern Sugar from the Czech Republic. A day before the Ministress invited representatives of non-governmental organizations and profession union to a meeting to know a farmers’ opinion of a possible legal action of the state against Eastern Sugar. A decision of this sugar industry company is against a spirit of a Union reform which supposes a termination of sugar production and sugar beet growing where this activity is not efficient. After entertaining of all arguments, including economic and legal ones, the participants of Monday’s meeting expressed themselves against taking the legal action, with exception of the Agrarian Chamber of the CR which, however, does not have a concerted opinion.

Farmers don’t show interest in storage of cereals in public stores

None agricultural enterprise in the entire Czech Republic took advantage of a possibility to store cereals in some agricultural public stores. Tá˙a Králová, a press spokeswoman of the Ministry of Agriculture CR (MZe) pointed it out today. “In this season when purchase prices of cereals increased significantly since harvest it would be advantageous for growers not to sell their crop directly from field but to store it in a public store and to wait with the sale for a better price”, the spokeswoman said.

Employees of Setuza are still without wages

An execution in the company Setuza still endangers running of the business. Its employees have not got their November wages yet. They will receive them with delay and in two stages. “The state invoked by the execution cased a big disconcertment among suppliers and a necessity to prefer payments to suppliers is a cause of division of payment of wages before Christmas”, reported Jan Judl, a chief of a trade union.

1328 products was appraised by the national mark of quality KLASA

Certified products are from 195 domestic producers. Other thirty three new food products of inland production acceded to present products appreciated with the national mark of quality Klasa. The biggest number of newly certified foods falls in a category of alcoholic beverages. Than a category of delicatessen follows and also a category of meat and meat products has a strong representation. Two new producers are among nine appreciated enterprises, which have got the appraisal for the first time at all. It is dealt with categories fruits and vegetables, delicatessen and other food products.
