Processors: export of Czech pig meat in Germany will solve nothing

Representatives of the Czech Meat Processors Association (˙SZM) do not agree with producers’ opinion that a situation on pig meat market will be solved by pig meat export abroad; above all in Germany. Pig breeders and producers by means of export want to solve the current “bad situation on the slaughter pig market” – as they describe. The most they mind a price. In their opinion in 2006 it did not reach the level of the year 2005. The total pig meat production in the CR decreases and the country is not already self-sufficient in the production.

Less & Forest won milliard tenders

A winning company will get more than forty percent of commissions which Lesy ˙R has advertised for forest works. Less & Forest belongs to an entrepreneur Jan Mi˙ánek; the second place was placed by Krušnohorské lesy and the third one the biggest Czech forestry company CE Wood. Results of tenders were published by Lesy ˙R on internet sites. From 278 territorial units for which the state forests advertised the tenders 119 were allotted to Less & Forest; 44 to Krušnohorské lesy, and 13 to CE Wood. If participants of the tenders do not appeal against the results, contracts should start to be sign with winners in January. Tomáš Vyšohlíd, the spokesman of Lesy said it to ˙TK.

Warming will come instead of white winter

Temperatures will move around zero till the end of week, however, at the beginning of a new year it will grow warmer. A similar weather like today is expected by meteorologists till the end of week, so also of the whole this year. Morning temperatures will be slightly below zero; the highest daily ones will be several degrees above a freezing point and sky still almost clear; during weekend it will start to be cloudy. With the New Year warming will come and next Wednesday the highest daily temperatures are expected to climb to ten degrees above zero. After a long and warm autumn weather became to remind of winter during the Christmas; there was icy ground and icing. Nevertheless, people have not waited to see snow in most Czech Republic territory yet. There are few places in the mountains where it is possible to ski.

Agri-business deficit will grow according to estimations year-on-year by 30 %

A deficit of the Czech Republic in trade with agricultural and food products according to estimation of the Agrarian Chamber will deepen year-on-year roughly by 30 percent to 33 milliard crowns. Last year the balance was very improved by exports of cereal surpluses, on the contrary this year the harvest decreased. Also a continuing decrease of domestic production of pig and beef meat will show itself as well as imports of these commodities; Jan Veleba, the president of ACH, judges. “Development of agrarian trade show evidence of sinking Czech agriculture”, he added.
