Lesy CR cancelled billion tender for forestry works
The state enterprise Lesy of the Czech Republic (L˙R) has cancelled six-billion tender for forestry works this year. A reason is changed conditions in forests after a wind disaster caused by January hurricane. A spokesman of Lesy ˙R Tomáš Vyšohlíd informed on it Právo. However, according to him, shortened selective proceedings for works connected with harvesting of woods from the calamity still stay in force.
EU agreed on higher share of energy from renewable resources
Member states of the European Union came to an agreement on ambitious measures at a summit in Brussels today which should help to fight with a climatic change and to unify partially the EU energetic policy. The summit agreed without engagement that the Union will increase a share of renewable energy in the total energetic consumption of the EU to 20 percent. Finally, the Czech Republic, according to the Premier Mirek Topolánek, agreed on it because the intention considers a situation in particular countries which will influence height of its obligation.
Hygienists founded faults in third of food producers in South Moravia
Approximately in every third food manufactory in South Moravia hygienists founded serious faults within last year’s inspections. For example, innkeepers and delicacy producers stored foods in incorrect temperature, they prepared raw meat, vegetable and eggs at one place together with ready meals, or they don’t keep expiration of products durability. Jana Laštovi˙ková from South-Moravian hygienic station reported it.
New chairman of the Council of National Park Šumava is Jan Stráský
A new chairman of the Council of National Park Šumava (NPŠ) which is an advisory authority of the park management became the chairman of the Czech Tourist Club and a former federal premier Jan Stráský. ˙TK was informed on it today by spokesman of Šumava park Radovan Holub. Stráský has worked as a director of South Bohemia regional office. He replaced Miloš Pick in his function. A intention of the new chairman is first of all to clam the situation in Šumava and to find a compromise among inhabitants of the region, tourists and the park administration.Source: Agris, 11.03.2007
