A main aim of further year of the competition “Stars of regions 2008” is to identify examples of good practice and to present the most successful projects for support of regional development in areas of Knowledge and innovation economics and Sustainable development.

Ministers of G8 warned against destruction of biodiversity

Ministers of environment from seven the most developed countries of the world and Russian (the group G8) as well as from China, India, Brazil, Mexico and the Republic of South Africa warned against destruction of biodiversity and in a document marked as Potsdam initiative they undertook to fight against both the liquidation of biodiversity and the warming of climate.

Gandalovič will support unblocking of budget by European Parliament in Brussels

Coming regular session of the Council of Ministers of Agriculture of the European Union which takes place next Monday and Tuesday in Brussels will deal beside others with a question of unblocking the Union budget in the new function period 2007-2013. The European Parliament approached to it this year in February. Táňa Králová, a spokeswoman of the Ministry of Agriculture drew attention to it today.

Concerning adjustment of entrepreneurial conditions in frame of the Common Agricultural Policy of EU and its prepared reform we stay before a big challenge. To strengthen competitiveness of our entrepreneurial subjects in frame of EU agriculture still is not successful. The Czech Republic does have comparable entrepreneurial conditions neither with the original countries of EU-15, nor with some new member countries, e.g. with Poland which have postponed sale of agricultural land to foreigners by the year 2013, while the Czech government in frame of a novel of the law No. 219/1995 Col., exchange law, and the law No. 95/1999 Col., on conditions of transfer of agricultural and forestry land from the state ownership to other persons passed it already on the 21 of February 2007.
