Farmers fulfilled threat; they will block Dolní Dvořiště

Farmers came with a concrete term when thy want to block borders with Austria due to import of cheap meat from abroad. The Agrarian Chamber announced that the blockade will start on Monday the 26th of March at 11 o'clock. For one hour farmers will unable operation through the border crossing Dolní Dvořiště. Drivers of pasing through camions and in motor-cars will get moreover leaflets supporting preservation of Czech foods on Czech market. “They also get some of them to judge so that thy fixed how taste the domestic production”, a spokeswoman of the Agrarian Chamber Eugenie Línková reported in a press announcement.

Farmers want to sty managers in their own country

The Agrarian Chamber of the CR in cooperation with associations, in the concrete the Pig Breeders Union of Bohemia and Moravia, the Agricultural Union, Bohemian-Moravian Meat-Processors Union, Czech Association of ZZN organizations and sale organizations - the national sale coop Centroodbyt, OD Agropork, called together a meeting of pig producers in Větrný Jeníkov. Also a general manager of the firm Maso Planá, Emil Kasper, who is a vice-director of the Food Chamber, was invited as a guest. Even despite of a snow calamity about 250 breeders from the entire CR participated in the meeting. They came to consult together with processors how further in the meat production, how to cope with growing meat imports, and what supposed price development they will face.

Cause Lesy can come to European Court

The European Commission said clearly that the state enterprise Lesy CR made mistakes in public commissions. The affair can come as far as to the European Law Court. The Commission informed on it journalists today. If the Czech Republic didn't retrieve the errors, the case could appear at the Court already in two weeks. Hereat, the firm cancelled again selective proceedings two weeks ago which are as well now attacked by Brussels.

Fat fines will threaten for spoiled foods in Slovakia

Producers and businessmen who will sell spoiled or objectionable foods in Slovakia can get a fine as much as 50 million Slovak crowns (roughly 41,8 million CZK) after today passed amendment of act. At present, inspectors can punish firms by a fine to one million of Slovak crowns.
