Minister Petr Gandalovič met farmers from Kutná Hora and Kolín regions today
Since his introduction in the position at the beginning of January the Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič has already negotiated several times with representatives of agricultural basic industry producers. Today he visited them directly “ in the terrain”. The minister chose purposely the joint-stock company ZDV Krchleby in Kutná Hora region with acreage 2767 hectares and Miroslav Zapletal’s private farm in Nová Ves in Kolín region with acreage 283 hectares to compare way of management in different types of agricultural enterprises and to judge their strong and weak sides.
Aim of trading with emission permits is reduction of pollution: reaction of MŽP to today’s decision of European Commission on National Allocation Plan
“The Ministry of Environment welcomed a decision of the European Commission. The previous Czech government sent in Brussels an application for increase of volume of emitted carbon dioxide by 23,6 % in comparison with real CO2 emissions in 2005. It tried it and it did not come off”, Martin Bursík, the Minister of Environment comments today’s European Commission’s decision. EC approved for the Czech Republic a yearly volume 86,8 million tons of CO2 emissions. “An aim of the system of tradable emission permits is to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, not to allow firms to capitalize on sale of the permits which prevails them in consequence of their too benevolent allotment.
Říman will bring a suit owing to emission permits
Brussels’ decision on emission permits again disunited the resort of industry and trade and the Ministry of Environment. The Minister of Industry and Trade Martin Říman is going to bring a suit against the European Commission; on the contrary the Ministry of Environment welcomes less permits. In next days the government will have to solve rejection of the original height of emission permits then for which the Czech Republic asked the EC. Czech industry will be able to emit by almost 15 percent less carbon dioxide in 2008 – 2012 than it was originally planned.
Czechs got ahead Europe in recycling of plastics
The Czech Republic get on the first place in the European Union in recycling of plastic packaging last year. At the same time Czech produced in count per one inhabitant the least of non-recycled packaging. It results from data of the European Commission. Lukáš Grolmus from the company ECO-KOM informed on it at a press conference. Every Czech at average sorted more than 43 kilograms of waste last year. It is by 7 kilo more than in 2005. In Grolmus’s opinion it is also positive that people are willing to go to the sorted waste containers farther than they really have them. According to a survey of the company ECO-KOM at average a container is in distance 138 meters. People are at average willing to carry the waste 181 meters
