Spring for Earth 2007 - third week

A campaign Spring for Earth 2007 comes in the third week. Slovak Institute in Prague in cinema hall (Blue hall) still offers Czech-Slovak exhibition of photographs Bílé/Biele Karpaty. Today we bring a list of actions which will take place on behalf of Spring for Earth in the first April week

Enriching by selenium

Organic selenium from yeast is approved as nutrition element in many countries all the world over but not yet completely in the European Union. The first addition approved for the EU is based on use of microorganism Saccharomyces cerevisiae. There are known practical experience which proves itself in all commercially bred kind of poultry. They consist in that a part of feed it is possible to replace by feeding yeasts enriched with selenium. Thereby the input investment is significantly renewed.

How it is with imports of birds from non-member states?

Before a tourist season the State Veterinary Association of the ČR (SVS) informed already on difficulties of non-trade imports of interest animals (see the press release “Beware of imports of some interest animals” which is on web pages of SVS http://www.svsr.cz. As there are often requests about possible imports of birds from the third countries, i.e. from countries which are not EU member states, eventually from the EU, SVS provides important data.

SVS: Occurrence of salmonella in CR is substandard

The State Veterinary Administration of CR (SVS) realizes from the 1st January 2007 in poultry breedings programs for damping of salmonellas and realizes steps against salmonellas in breedings of layers for production of consumption eggs and in reproduction flock. Josef Duben, a spokesman of SVS refers to it. Other step which will follow, according to Duben, is damping of salmonellas in broiler breedings. To get to know more about a situation in our breedings and breedings of other member states, a basic study has been realized in the entire area of EU from 1.102005 - 30.9.2006 with an aim to found out to what extents salmonellas occur in these breedings”, the spokesman informed.
