Lesy CR ennunciated tenders for 1,7 billion CZK for work for second half-year

The State enterprise Lesy of the Czech Republic (LCR) ennunciated today first competition for growing and timber harvesting works for the second half of this year. The total value of tenders which will cover almost the whole area of forests of the state enterprise will be approximately 1,7 billion crowns. The only criterion of the competition will be the price. Tomáš Vyšohlíd, the spokesman of LCR said it today to ČTK. According to the president of Czech Entrepreneurs of Forest Management Association Pavel Indra, all parameters of tenders are not disposable meantime because they have not been published yet at so called central address. When it happens tha Association will evaluate them in a short time. „Already now we can say that we mind that a requirement of some certificate in which firm invested hundred thousands lost“, Indra reported.

Říman: There was mistake in calculation of emission permits

The Ministry of Industry and Trade found a mistake in a calculation of allotment of emission permits for the Czech Republic for the years 2008 to 2012 which operated with a lower estimation of gross domestic product growth. The Minister of Industry and Trade Martin Říman announced. According to him the mistake was found by experts within an analysis of decision of the European Commission to allot by 15 percent of emission permits less to the Czech Republic than how many domestic offices required. For that reason the Ministry of Industry and Trade did not exclude an action against the EC, however, the government will decide on its possible bringing after the end of analysis. „We have revealed already in the first stage of analysis that one of the numbers for calculation of allotment of emission permits, so a supposed growth of GDP in 2006-2010, is not in harmony withthe last data which both the Czech Nationa Bank and the Ministry of Finances publish“, Říman said after negotiation with the President Václav Klaus with whom he spoke just about the topic of impact of the new allocation plan of CO2 emissions on inland economy.

CR produced less CO2 last year then for which it had permits

The Czech Republic produced less carbon dioxide last year that for which it had emission permits. According to preliminary data of the European Union the Czech Republic had permits for 97 million tons of CO2, however, it produced 84 million tons. Also Slovakia emitted in air rather less. It had permits for 14 million tons; the real production was by a million ton lower. A similar development was also in neigbouring Poland and Hungary, the agency Reuters wrote.

Eggs from hens from cages should disappear from shops in five years

Eggs from hens bred in cages which conservationists mark as ¨inhuman should disappear from shops in the year 2012. Some businessmen and even large trade chains have bound themselves that they will completely stop selling eggs from hens bred in narrow conditions. Also European regulation from the year 1999 counts on a complete ban but its fate is not still clear. Promise of withdrawal of eggs from cage hens has brought the European prize „Good egg“, awarded by the international organization for animal protection CIWT, to some companies.Nether one company is Czech but for example Austrian group REWE Group which was also awarded provides 240 supermarkets Billa and discount shops Penny Market in the Czech Republic and according to its representatives it offers only eggs from free-bred hens in some its shops.
