Rules of EU for wrapping of foods will be moderated; Euro-representatives agreed

The European Parliament passed definitively a proposal today which will mean a more moderate European rules for wrapping of food. The new regulation allows to use arbitrary size of wrappings for foods where it has not been possible till this time. However, the limitation is still in force for basic foods, for example for milk, butter, sugar, rice and others. A sense of maintenance of these limitations is so that foods of everyday boarding would be sold in well-arranged and specified amount. Than consumer can be protect against a purchase of cheap butter which would, however, less weight. Milk will be still sold in seven sizes and for example just the butter in six sizes.

Rain saved outplanting to foresters and helped against wood-engraver

Fall of temperature and Monday and Tuesday rain saved newly planted trees to foresters in Liberec region. They also helped them against spreading of wood-engraver which likes dry and hot weather. District forest officers don´t have to keep fire patrols in the future. A director of Lesy of the Czech Republic in Liberec region Ludvík Řičář said it to ČTK today. On Monday and Tuesday in total 13,5 millimeters of rain falls fell at a meteorological station at Liberec airport. “Land in forest is wet only in deep of several centimeters and we would need so that meteorological forecast would prove true and it would rain also in next days”, Řičář pointed out.

Minister Gandalovič negotiated on possibilities of trade development yesterday in Peking

The first day of his work visit in the Republic of China the Czech Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič led many bilateral negotiations with his opposites in Peking. Ilona Chalupská, a directress of the department of communication of the Ministry of Agriculture CR (MZe) informed on it. According to her data the minister met three ministers of Chinese government who lead resorts of agriculture and water and forest management. Gandalovič also presented at an entrepreneurial workshop for food-industry firms.

Some restrictions due to bird flu still last

The State Veterinary Administration CR (SVS) cancelled remaining extraordinary veterinary measures to the 1st of May concerning breeding of poultry and other birds bred in captivity which has been still in force due to a danger of bird flu with that a more general principles are still valid, and that on base of the public notice No. 296/2003 which was amended on the 19th of January 2007.
