One-member groups of producers don’t have right to subsidies

Groups of producers which consist only of one member don’t fulfill a purpose given by national and European legislative for support of farmers for a common sale of production. The Ministry of Agriculture opened this week shortened cross-check proceedings aim of which is to cancel ranking of these one-member groups in a subsidy program.

New technology for nuclear waste

Radioactive wastes have been inactivated in very complicated ways till this time. A new technology is based on melting of plasma. Israel company EER, which helps to carry out cleaning works after a disaster in a nuclear power station in Černobyl, announced an operational application of technology which is able to decompose a nuclear waste. The technology is based on melting of plasma (plasma gasification melting - PMG). A toxic waste is transform into a highly ionized gas, than it is condensed, stiffened, melted and vitrified and after cooling down a glassy, environmentally friendly neutral material is produced from it.

After ten years great bustard nests again in the Czech Republic

Great bustard (Otis tarda), a critically endangered bird species has retuned to nest in the Czech Republic, ten years after the last recorded case. A press spokesman of the Ministry of Evironment CR (MŽP) Jakub Kašpar informed on it. A nest group was monitored last year in Znojmo region and it seems that this bird considered as practically extinct in the Czech nature could return again in our ornithofauna.

Spring for Earth 2007 – tenth week

The campaign for Earth 2007 comes in the tenth week. Again we offer a view of actions which wait for us. We would like to draw attention especially to the European Day of Parks which protected areas in the entire Europe celebrate on Thursday, the 24th of May.
