According to Confederation commissions in forests should be decided on by Cabinet
According to a Confederation of Forestry and Wood-processing Unions the government is who should decide on a system of allotment of commissions for processing of wood. Ivo Klimša, a president of the Confederation said it to today’s Hospodářské noviny. He criticized a decision of the Ministry of Agriculture which had allowed the state enterprise Lesy CR to advertise competition for forest works in a total value of 1,7 billion crowns. “There is a threat of collapse of timer harvesting, subsequently a lack of wood and billion losses of papermills, furniture producers and of all who are dependent on wood supplies”, Klimša said. “Again selective proceedings are not prepared well. Therefore firms can infirm the results again – and who will then ensure wood for us?”, he said to the daily.
