Infected turkey did get to shops

At least one positive news in a case of bird flu in region Ústí nad Orlicí. Turkey from the farm Tisová at which the virus occurred did not get to trade network. A chairman of the Agricultural trade cooperative Zálší, František Bartoš, to whom the firm belongs announced it. “We would sell them in a month and half when they have 18 kilograms. Now they have ten kilos”, Bartoš said.

Harvest of fruit will be the least since 1995 because of frosts; damages 400 million CZK

This year harvest of fruit in orchards of Czech growers will be due to spring frosts the least since 1995 and damages will reputedly reach more than 400 million crowns. According to estimation to a half of June the harvest should be 163 550 tons which is year-on-year by 29 percent less. Prices of apples are estimated to increase because of bad harvest by 10 - 20 percents. A secretary of Fruit Growers Union CR, Martin Ludvík, said it to ČTK today. A year financial value of fruit harvested in the Czech Republic usually moves above one billion crowns.

Fishery season has started; fishermen start off for fish of prey

Fishery season has started fully. Preservation of fish-preys has ended, so fishermen can again set off for pike-perch, northern pike, sheat fish and asp from this week. According to a secretary of the Czech Fishery Union, Jan Štípek, they can fish them in rivers and big water reservoirs. An interest is high. “A fish of prey has meat of very high quality. Moreover, it is a noble fish. To fish it requires a certain skills and art”, Štípek said to ČTK. No special permit for fishing is necessary. To keep fishery rules is enough, he reported.

Newly marked products come on Czech market

Already eleven important food-industry firms have come to an agreement at European level to introduce data on covers of their food which will provide a consumer with all substantial information on nutrition composition of the products. Opavia and Kofola in the Czech Republic fell in beside companies Cadbury Schweppes, Campbell's, Coca-Cola, Danone, Kellogg's, Kraft, Mars, Nestlé, Orangina, Pepsi and Unilever. Also a company United Bakeries consider to join the project actually. These producers bind themselves voluntarily to introduce a data on energy content of one portion (in kilocalories) and its share in a recommended daily caloric intake on front side of cover of their products.
