Chlorine – a means to reduce pathogen
Chlorine in form of sodium hypochlorite, calcium hypochlorite or as a gas is the most common means for disinfection of slaughter bodies and equipment of processing enterprises in the USA. The Food Safety and the Inspection Service (FSIS) permit addition of chlorine in water to wash slaughter bodies or water in cooler in amount as much as 50 ppm. FSIS requires so that chlorinated water containing minimally 20 ppm of usable chlorine would be used for all surfaces of slaughter bodies in case that their inwards were processed again otherwise than only by trimming.
National park Šumava starts dialogue with municipalities
A new common plan of development should respect needs of protected area and local inhabitants of the National Park Šumava (NPŠ) started a new phase of dialogue with local inhabitants on Monday. As a spokesman of the administration of NPŠ Radovan Holub informed Právo, three-hour negotiation concerned mainly to the park’s future, protection of environment, and development of municipalities in this protected area. “Simply said, we would like to harmonize conservation and classical regional development”, a director of NP Šumava František Krej˙í stated after a discussion. He pointed out that just extensive limitations in face of municipalities were often a matter of complaints of local mayors and entrepreneurs.
According to ecologists protected bird area is in danger
Moravský Písek – A complaint against approval of the Ministry of Environment to lead a new high-speed road R55 along the river Morava between Rohatec and Moravský Písek in Hodonín region across Europe-protected Bird area Bzenecká Doubrava – Strá˙nické Pomoraví, was sent to the European Commission by the Czech Ornithological Company and D˙ti Zem˙ (Children of Earth).
Ensilage of damp cereals
Ensilage is economically very advantageous methods of conservation of cereals. A resulting product can be fed or used in bio-gas stations. There is little information on use of ensilage groats in pig nourishment. Results of researches realized at the university in German Rostock have shown that ensilage of cereals can be very economically advantageous method of conservation which has not negative influenc e on its digestibility.
