In Highland harvest started in advance, in the meantime crop is good

Farmers in Highland (Vyso˙ina) opened harvest of cereals in recent days. Owing to hot weather first harvesters went out in fields a week sooner than it is usual in this region. “In the meantime perennial barley is being harvested, mainly in region T˙ebí˙ and ˙˙ár”, said Karel Coufal from the Agrarian Chamber in T˙ebí˙ to ˙TK today. Last week about 3700 hectares of barley fields was cut. An average hectare yield moved about 4,6 tons, while last year farmers harvested 3,2 tons. This year´s crop in Highland could be average; somewhere maybe better. However, results will depend on further course of weather, Coufal noticed. Ripe fields were damaged by rains a year ago and farmers in this region had the lowest yields of cereals and rape due to it in the republic.

Firm defends from demolition of sugar refineries

The company Eastern Sugar CR has to demolish all its sugar refineries. The firm wanted to sell buildings bur the State Agricultural Intervention Fund (SZIF) refused the petition. Sugar refineries in Hroch˙v Týnec in region Chrudim, N˙m˙ice nad Hanou in region Prost˙jov and in Kojetín in region P˙erov. The company Eastern Sugar CR announced closure of sugar refineries last year in autumn and it returns its quota for sugar production to the European Union. It will get money for if from EU. In a restructuring plan the firm undertook voluntarily to demolish the sugar refineries. The company asked for a change in the program because there were persons interested in purchase of all three premises. They wanted to use the plants for further enterprise and to maintain employment there.

Winner of LCR tenders for second half-year is Less & Forest

A winner of selective proceedings of the state enterprise Lesy of the Czech Republic (LCR) for forest works in the second half-year is a company Less & Forest of an entrepreneur Jan Mi˙ánek. From 278 territorial units Less & Forest obtained the most – 30 units. Results of tenders whose total value is about 1,9 billion crowns LCR published on its internet sites. Less & Forest won also tenders for liquidation of calamity after the hurricane Kyrill, and last year´s, later cancelled one-year tenders. The second most successful firm in tenders for the second half-year is a company CE WOOD which succeeded on 24 units.

Damages after storms for more than 100 million CZK

Thousands of damages in total for more than one hundred million crowns were announced by people to the biggest domestic insurance companies after storms and rainstorms which hit the Czech Republic at the end of before last week. The biggest damages affected farmers. It results from an CTK inquiry among insurance companies according to which it was dealt with the biggest natural disaster since January bluster of the hurricane Kyrill.
