First projects in program for countryside can be submitted from today

From today interested person can submit applications for support of their projects in frame of the first round of Rural Development Program. They can ask for subsidies for modernizing of agricultural enterprises, for activity of young farmers, or for example for investments in renewable energy resources. Vilém Fr˙ek, a spokesman of SZIF said that at each of seven regional workplaces of the State Agricultural Intervention Fund (SZIF) tens application have been received only during the morning. A supposed volume of supports for the first round is about two billion crowns.

Standpoint of ACH CR to considered amendment of act on packing (advance payment for PET bottles)

The Food-Industry Chamber of the Czech Republic (ACH CR is alarmed by effort of the Ministry of Environment to introduce advance payments for non-returnable packing, preferably according to Germany, at time when a Czech consumer “has smoothed the path to its container” and when the Czech Republic is assessed in collection of separated waste as one of the most successful countries of the European Union and as the second best in recycling plastics. Therefore ACH CR does not see the only reason for amendment of the law No. 477/2001 of Coll., on packing and on changes of some laws (the law on packing), subsequently amended.

Timber crisis is warded off

Systematic discrepancies which had been tossing the management of state Lesy of the Czech Republic for four years have come into its the most serious dead point in half of this year. Managers of state forests found themselves on one side, on the other side there are all forestry and wood-processing enterprises. It was not a dispute among interest groups or maybe forestry clans from which some used to have support in the state enterprise. In this case it was already a matter of principle and there was a threat of the system’s disruption.

Purchasing power differs in CR regions considerably

Actual results of a project “Purchasing power in regions and municipalities of the CR in 2007” which was introduced by companies INCOMA Research and GfK confirm deepening of regional differences in level of purchasing power of the population. Besides comparison of particular regions, districts and municipalities of the CR also evaluation of level of purchasing potential of consumers over particular postcode areas is disposable. As expected the city Prague is at the front with a big headstart. In count per inhabitant the purchasing power reaches almost 133 % of nation-wide average. On the opposite side of the scale there are tens of municipalities where average values of purchasing power index are above the level of 70 %.
