From today European regulation on transportation of wastes comes in force in CR

Today the Counsel’s regulation on transportation of wastes comes in force in the Czech Republic. Firms which transport recycled waste will have to close agreement according to it on subsequent usage. It should secure a better control of waste and to prevent for example from black dumps. An original regulation from 1993 covers movement of waste in frame of the EU and its export and import in third countries. On one hand it should contribute to improvement of environment and human health, on the other hand it respects rights of trading on domestic market. This regulation covers in effect all kinds of waste (except radioactive waste and some other types of waste).

Gandalovič negotiated on further procedure in connection with H5N1 in Choceň

Today afternoon in Zálší near Choceň the Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič participated in a negotiation of emergency staff of the region Pardubice in context of occurence of bird flu virus on farms in Netřeby near České Heřmanice and in Kosořín. Both effected farms are under the supervision of veterinarians and firemen from yesterday; also army has arrived at the place today. From the morning a liquidation of poultry takes place in breeding in Netřeby. “We will continue in thorough protective measures so as the virus H5N1 could not spread further in breedings.

SZPI continues on inspecting Delvita shops; it has not found new faults yet

After Wednesday findings of rotten meat in Delvita in Prague in the Mazancova street inspectors of the State Agricultural and Food Inspection (SZPI) continues on inspecting other supermarkets Delvita which from June belong in the trade chain Billa. On Wednesday evening they inspected packaged meat and expiration data in Delvita in Jihlava; today morning in ˙eská Lípa, said a spokesman of SZPI Ivo Klimeš to CTK. The inspections did not reveal any fauls. The inspectors during controls in Delvita shops concentrate above all on sensorial evaluation of packaged meat and they verify expiration data marked on the covers. “The same as within common inspections they monitor also temperatures of stocking and sanitary conditions in a shop and in a background, especially in stocks of foods”, Klimeš said.

Limitation owing to water protection will be valid for half of agricultural land

So called vulnerable areas, where some limitations are set for farmers due to water protection against nitrates concerning e.g. use of fertilizers, will be spread for 40 percent of CR acreage. Till this time vulnerable regions has taken 37 of Czech territory and 45,5 percent of agricultural land. Petr Gandalovi˙ said after the Cabinet’s negotiation to CTK that the government had passed the ministry’s proposal. The new delimitation stems from an obligatory four-year revision of regions where waters are vulnerable with nitrates pollution, especially from agriculture. For example farmers in these areas must not fertilize in some periods and they can apply only limited amount of nitrogen on the farmed land.
