According to farmers heats decreases production efficiency of animals; nor crop thrives on them
Current heats do not make pleasure to farmers. Extreme temperatures are said to decrease production efficiency of animals and nor crop whose quality could worsen thrives on them. Whether these effects will show themselves some more significantly it will depend on further development of weather, farmers point out. According to data of the State Veterinary Association heats caused also death of overheating of thousands pieces of poultry. According to the a chairman of the Agricultural Union Miroslav Jirovský in spite of use of ventilators and air moisteners during big heats a decrease of production efficiency of animals shows itself, i.e. lower accruals of animals and lower milk yield.
Czech Republic wants to change form of sugar reform
The Czech Republic does not agree with a form of sugar reform in frame of EU. It results from a standpoint which was presented by the Minister of Agriculture of CR Petr Gandalovič at today's meeting of the Counsel for Agriculture and Fishery. On the present a politic debate on a final form of this reform takes place. According to Czech side a motivation of growers to terminate their production for endowment and thereby force to make a sugar refinery to terminate its activity is obvious. A threat of termination of activity appears mainly in new member states, among other also the CR belongs, thanks to absence of strong relation between producers of sugar and growers of rape which is common in older member states.
Objectionable meat - again in Delvita
The State Agricultural and Food Inspection (SZPI) have found out other objectionable meat in a chain Delvita, this time in Brno in the Jihlavská street. Eight and half kilograms of pig meat in a state unsuitable for human consumption were determined to be thermally treated on a grill. Inspectors forbade selling the meat and ordered to destroy it, Ivo Klemeš, a spokesman of SZPI said.
For the first time after nine years EU will permit to grow GMO on its territory
For the first time since 1998 growing of genetically modified crop-plants (GMO), it is dealt with potatoes, will be permit in the European Union. Today, EU ministers of agriculture did not agree on whether growing of potatoes should be permit or not. CTK It was confirmed on it by a diplomatic resource. In case of the ministers' non-agreement the European Commission is who decides on the permission. It repeated today that it is prepared to permit the crop.
