In recent years demand and prices of milk product on world market as well as in the EU have significantly increased. EU production lags behind demand growth; intervention reserves of butter and dry milk got empty. In a middle-term perspective prices can move above a level of last years.

Month of bio-foods starts

A campaign “September - month of bio-food and ecological agriculture” will help consumer to orientate and make first steps so that bio-foods would become an everyday part of their life. It is introduced in today's press release on opening of already the 3rd year of this action. In the Month of bio-foods will take place almost hundred actions which will inform on advantages of bio-foods and will encourage for their consumption. The campaign is supported top Czech bio-food producers as Probio, Olma, Jizerské pekárny, Semix, and Sluneční brána; further a network of shops dm drug-store and restaurants Bio Cafes. The Moth bio will under the auspices and with financial support of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Environment of the Czech Republic.

There is few hops; hopefully, price of beer will nor raise

This year there is few “green gold”, hops, of the Czech Republic. Drought, unusual heats, climatic extremes caused that the harvest will be under-average. According to the Hop-Growers Union farmers will harvest at least by fifth less than they are used to. Good news is that beer should not raise in price. Hop is one of the most important regarding a volume, but by far not the main beer raw-material. “It is such a very expensive spice”, Jiří Faměra from the Research Institute of Brewing and Malting says.
