Levels of rivers raise; water managers are in emergency

Continuous rain gradually raises levels of rivers in north of Moravia and Silesia. Because rainy weather came after a long-term drought, Povodí Odra which manages these rivers does not expect that a situation which could endanger buildings could come. During yesterday's day, night and today's morning the most water in Jeseníky area rained. The precipitation amount here moves from seventy to one hundred and fifty milliliters per square meter. A substantially better situation is in Beskydy where it has rained 30 - 60 milliliters per square meter.

Poultry shows can be already organized

Because also till this time regional veterinary administrations could allow exceptions, the State Veterinary Administration CR decided that from Friday the 7th of September from 00 o'clock it is again possible to organize shows of poultry and other birds, efficiency examinations and breeder competitions on the whole territory of our republic. Further there is a duty for breeders-entrepreneurs to report to their local-relevant regional veterinary administration if production of eggs in their raising decreases by more than 5 %for a period longer than 2 years; if food and water intake in their poultry raising decreases by more than 20 %; or if they record mortality of poultry higher than 3 % weakly.

Czech dairy works can not face import mainly in sale of cheeses

Czech dairy works can not face foreign competition on domestic market mainly in sale of cheeses. Import of cheeses started to strengthen after joining the EU and now it exceed almost three-times the volume of Czech production sold abroad. From the republic milk is exported which inland dairy works would be able to process to products with higher added value. Jiří Kopáček from the Czech-Moravian Dairy Industry Union said it to ČTK at a conference to the Dairy-Industry Day in Přibyslav in the region Havlíčkův Brod. According to Josef Matějka from the Agrarian Chamber food-producers are not obliging sufficiently in negotiations.

Flood preventions can break municipal budgets

A methodology of financing of flood-protection measures with a support of the European Investment Bank elaborated by the department of water management at the Ministry of Agriculture can be misused to tunnelling of municipal or regional budgets. It results from a version of methodical directions which Aktuálně.cz has disposable. And it is confirmed also by representatives of municipalities. According to these directions projectors of buildings of flood-protection measures, which are municipalities, towns, associations of villages, or regions, have to sign to applicants (state enterprises Povodí, Lesy of the Czech Republic, and the Agricultural water-Management Administration) in fact a blank check for financial costs without knowing their height.
