More than three million Euros will go for restructuring of Czech viticulture

Other 369 thousand Euros were allotted to the Czech Republic for restructuring of viticultural sector by the European Commission. Compared to the original proposal it is dealt with more than ten-percent increase and our vine-growers achieved with an average share of financial means for the total vineyard acreage, which is 166 Euro/ha after an adjustment, the first place of all member states of the European Union. A total sum allotted for projects makes almost 3 200 thousand Euros.

Coca-Cola withdraws supply of citron waters from shops

A supranational company Coca-Cola has a problem with one of its beverages: from Tuesday it is withdrawing gradually one charge of citron Bonaqua from shops. “This charge does not satisfy internal regulations of quality and to keep a good name of trademark”, Coca-cola announces by letter to its consumers. Flavoured soda-waters from Coca-Cola go away from small shops, gas stations as well as big chains. According to information of Aktuálně.cz the problem concerns as many as hundred-thousands of bottles of this mark of packaged water.

SMO warns against decrease of share of stable pasturage

Farmers associated in the Union of Marginal Areas (SMO) called attention to a risk of decrease of stable pasturages or permanent grass stands at their member assembly on Friday the 21st of September. From a regulation of Council of European Union it results that a share of stable pasturages must not decrease by ten percents. If it happens, the EU will start to shorten direct payments to Czech farmers. On the present decrease by 3,4 percent has happened. It is a question of principle what will happen in 2008 when five-year engagements of economy in management of permanent grass stands mature in big part of farmers. In this connection SMO asks why the Czech Republic does not succeed either to increase the share of stable pasturages or to maintain it at least.

Pavel Brandl was elected chief of Land Fund

The Presidium of Land Fund accepted a resignation of the president of executive committee of the Land Fund of the CR, ing. arch. Jiřina Bömová, on the 21st of September 2007. Her function took over the present vice-president ing. Pavel Brandl, and ing. Květoslava Brátová was elected in the function of the 2nd vice-president of the executive committee. “Today's changes in the Land Fund management are a result of a systematic and long-term reconstruction of executive committee of this institution”, the Minister of agriculture Petr Gandalovič said.
