Court confirmed competences of ÚOHS within local investigations

The Office for Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) invited a judgement of the Regional Court in Brno concerning a decision of ÚOHS from 2003 on infliction of a fine in height 300 000 CZK to the company DELTA PEKÁRNY, a.s. because workers of the company have not enabled an access to some business records to representatives of the Office investigating there and some secured documents had even been taken off from them. It was stated by the Division of External Relations of the Antimonopoly Office and it added that an action against this decision was refused. Beside others the Regional Court confirmed the present practice of the Office when it stated that ÚOHS did not need an approval of the Court for realization of a control in business premises of the competitor.

Wind power station will be built in Větřkovice

A decision has been made. At least in Větřkovice in Vítkov region which permitted building of a wind park in a cadastre of the municipality. “We have approved a building of wind power stations. Seven representatives were for, three against and one person refrained from voting”, a mayor of Větřkovice Dušan Lederer said. According to his words the investor will have to face various authorizations, measurements and negotiations with land owners. “According to wind maps Větřkovice should be a suitable locality for placement of power stations. At present we stay before a signature of an agreement”, Lederer let out. How much money will be added in a communal treasury thanks to the wind park the mayor still does not know.

Rise in prices of foods has no logic

A nightmare of rise of food prices walks around Europe. The European Parliament in Strasbourg recommended even last week to change a rule according to which farmers have to let a part of land to lie dormant to decrease earlier common surpluses of production. Also in the Czech Republic the Agrarian Chamber predicted load that prices of foods will rise per saltum due to growing prices of cereals and milk, as much as by twenty five percents. Firstly: No price shock is on. And second, it shows that rice in food prices “has no logic” at first sight. For example prices of chickens of butter break records now. However, conversely, a price of pig meat falls down.

Rivers are clearer year after year. However, not last year

In last seventeen years Czech rivers have significantly cleared, however, the last year was an exception. More pollutants flew out in water courses. “In comparison with the year 2005 pollution of water in 2006 slightly increased and a long-term favourable trend changed”, it is stated in a report on last year’s state of environment which will be soon discussed by the government and which an editor’s office Aktuálně.cz has disposable. The document shows that pollution of water courses increased by several percents last year in a category of undissolved substances or dissolvable inorganic salt which are emitted for example by industrial enterprises.
