Tree of the year 2007 is Stojanov's Linden from Beňov

The Tree of the year 2007 is Stojanov's Linden from Beňov in Přerov region. A record number 22 571 people voted for a linden dominating a local village green. It is approximately a third of all people included in this year's year of this known inquiry. A tree hundred and fifty years old of height 22 meters got name after a Beňov's native, archbishof Antonín Cyril Stojanov (he lived in 1851 till 1923). A linden from Stará Lysá in Central Bohemia region took the second place.

If I leave aside how fast an amendment of act 95/1999 Coll. on transfers of agricultural land should be passed according to representatives' proposal, than I am surprised that the text of the draft law is not available (nor by request) and that information about it judging by the acceptance on internet does not induce practically any acceptance of the agricultural public. Hereat, it is dealt with the most significant interference with agricultural enterprise since 1999, considering the land.

Reduce amount of emission permits for Czech firms. With this request a group of representatives of ČSSD and KDU-ČSL appealed to the government. Topolánek's cabinet will deal with their proposal at today's session. A draft of amendment of act on emissions submitted to the government counts on a reduction in volume of emission permits by 50 percents by 2050 in comparison with the state in 2000.According to one of floor managers, a social-democratic representative Robin Böhnisch, the draft is inspired by an example from Great Britain which wants to reduce emission of carbon dioxide by 60 percent at the same time. Seven years ago emissions of green-house gases in the Czech Republic were hundred and four million tons of carbon dioxide which meant roughly twice more pollutions than worldwide average was. In 2050 emissions should not exceed seventy two million tons.

After 90's when housing construction rather stagnated recently there is a boom in this area influenced mainly by a deficiency of supply on the residence market, an easy availability of mortgages and an expected change of tax policy. Dynamics of residence construction is than one of significant factors which influence also the market with housing furniture and accessories together with growing purchasing power of households and the general mood in the society when the culture and teh style of furnishings became an important topic.
