Union: Czechs already buy 40 percent of foods from export
Last year Czech spent about 235 billion crowns for foods, beverages and tobacco; already 40 percent of the sum fell on goods from export. From domestic production shops sold foods for 140 billion crowns. It results from data of the Agricultural Union according to which a share of exports on domestic market grows. Reputedly thereby prices of food inland and in Europe will even faster. On the other hand the Czech Republic exports a part of agrarian products. Last year the export was 74 billion crowns. Domestic production of food and beverages was despite the fact by 20 billion crowns lower than consumption.
Slaughter and large-scale breedings operate in the Czech Republic without permission
Slaughter in Český Těšín, large-scale breedings throughout the country, or farrowing house of sows, these firms operate already for five days contrary to law. They do not have an integrated permit. So the all-Union permit which “watches” amount of emitted harmful substances, orders as effective technologies as possible, or which monitors fulfillment of limits for waste liquidation.
Farmers: Butter for 60 CZK is nonsense, it does not corresponds to growth of milk prices
Rise in price of a quarter of kilogram of butter to 60 crowns after the New Year is nonsense and it is not possible to explain it by rise in price of raw milk. Representatives of the Agricultural Union said it at today's press conference and added that rise in food price is invoked by sellers and processors rather than farmers themselves. The biggest inland dairy-work Madeta announces a fierce rise in price of butter next year after farmers made it to increase significantly a buy-out price of milk.
Admission in Schengen area does not invalidate national laws
At the end of this year the Czech Republic accesses the Schengen area. It means that border checks will disappear from our borders and one can recognize border crossings only according to a panel announcing that he/she is entering a territory of another state. As a director of external relations of the Ministry of Environment CR (MŽP) Jakub Kašpar warned, the admission in the Schengen area does not invalidate Czech legislative, for example concerning conservation of nature. So, henceforth some places will stay inaccessible for public despite the fact that they lie on the state border.
