Governments passes regulation facilitating life to milk producers
The government passed a new regulation at today’s negotiation which helps milk producers. For a milk quota system this government regulation brings several positives, partly it takes into account temporary problems with production capacity, further it decreases an administrative burden to milk producers, and moreover it conserves milk quotas in case of a transfer between husband and wife. The regulation will not require claims to the state budget not to other public budgets, on the contrary it will save administrative costs to milk producers.
EU forbade Cyprus to export meat due to mouth disease
The European Union forbade export of fresh meat, live animals and milk products from Cyprus after its specialists confirmed an occurrence of mouth and foot disease in the country. It was announced by the European Commission. At the same time it reduced restrictions for export of meat and milk products from Britain. Cyprian offices owing to the mouth and foot disease have already killed about 500 animals. “ Cyprus was declared a highly risky zone. Therefore any cattle must not be exported not its products in the EU”, a spokesman of the European commissioner for health and protection of consumer Markos Kyprian. Nevertheless, the Commission exempted from the ban cheese chalumi which is one of main export product of Cyperian farmers.
Farmers can ask for endowments for farming in bird localities
Farmers who manage in localities inhabited by rare land rails or wading birds can get endowments to conserve nature and to maintain conserved landscape. If they engage to farm carefully, they can get for conservation of land rail 5000 crowns per hectare annually and for farming in localities inhabited by wading birds by 500 crowns more. In localities in first zones of protected areas the endowment is reduced; a loss for limitation resulting from the law on conservation of nature and landscape is not included.
Government approved endowments for bee-keepers
The government at its today’s meeting passed endowment conditions for bee-keepers for a period 2008 – 2010. The Ministry of Agriculture (MZe) is aware of a problematic situation in bee-keeping, therefore it introduced a proposal to continue in the present endowments to bee-keepers. The continuing program is focused to several main areas and problems which are caused by decreasing number of colonies of bees. The newly proposed adjustment should make endowments accessible also for small bee-keepers. Beekeeping is completely fundamental for the agricultural sector and therefore MZe continues in the endowments till this time which it enlarged by several other supports. The total volume of endowments is roughly 171 million CZK; from it 50 % from EU resources and the rest from the CR budget.
