Gandalovič fight for increase of finances for our vine-growers

A discussion on wine reform progressed to a separate negotiations with individual ministries. The Czech Republic does not agree with proposed height of financial means for Czech vine-growers. A calculation stems from for us unfavourable period. The minister Gandalovič struggles for a change of period and thereby increase of a sum which at the present proposal admits to our vine-growers on average only 88 Euro per hectare and remains deep under the EU average and under a sum proposed to neighbouring countries.

Nuclear energy is green, Topolánek agrees with Moor

A nuclear energy is green, Czech premier Mirek Topolánek (ODS) agrees with words of former member of ecological movement Greenpeace Patrick Moor who he received today in Kramářova vila. Canadian who asserts that nuclear energy is clear and will help the world to decrease an amount of green-house gases in the air according to Topolánek brought “right wind” in Czech discussion on energy policy and a continuation of nuclear program. Early evening Moore is going to visit also the president Václav Klaus.

Europe wants to eat cheaper. It cancels duties on cereals

The European Commission suggested today a temporary cancelation of export duties on cereals. The decision is a consequence of growing prices of cereals and decreasing reserves and it should pay till the end of June next year. Ministries of agriculture of EU member states should pass the proposal at December meeting. Hospodářské noviny server informed on it with reference to the ČTK agency.

Breweries expect record production

Domestic breweries increased beer production in three quarters year-on-year by 1,6 percent to 15,4 million hectoliters. Export increased year-on-year by four percents to 2,796 million hectoliters of beer. Also sales on the domestic market increased. In comparison with four-percent increase in the first half-year the production growth slowed down. However, an executive director of the Czech Beer and Malt Association Jan Veselý believes that in a year brewery will have achieved a record production 20 million hectoliters.
