In third of localities it is possible to close contracts for forestry works

An independent commission a task of which is to pass judgment on efficiency of forest management models used by the state enterprise Lesy ČR (LČR) in next tree years has opened a sitting for the first time last week. Petr Vorlíček, a spokesman of the Ministry of Agriculture of CR (MZe) informed on it today. He said thatin third of localities it is possible to close contracts for forestry works for years 2008-2010. “The first session of the commission is a step to stability and transparency in Lesy České Republiky”, Petr Gandalovič, the Minister of Agriculture says. The commission consists of representatives of MZe, LČR and the Confederation of Forestry and Wood-processing Unions (KLDS).

Czech and Slovaks drink wine more and more, however, in spite of that we are under reign of beer

The Czechs drink wine more and more; since 1993 its consumption per head has increased by almost two liters to 17 liters in last year. Nevertheless, the growing popularity of the beverage from grapevine does not threaten a privileged position of beer in no way. In inland the consumption is steady about 160 liters per person yearly which is according to available data the most in the world. Each Czech drinks in count about eight liters of spirits yearly. It results from statistic data and estimation of experts. According to brewers recently especially foreigners have growing share in the high domestic consumption. They come in the Czech Republic more and more and beer is the main allurement for them. According to estimations, presently about 12,5 percents of domestic consumption falls on tourists and other foreign visitors; so roughly 20 liters from the total 160 liters.
