SVS CR again counts on many control missions of EU bodies

First of all it is dealt with DG SANCO (General management Health and Protection of Consumer, eventually its part the Food and Veterinary Office with a seat in Dublin) whose inspectors visit all member states and examined a system of veterinary controls, a system of supervision in trading etc. Till this time all mission in the CR stated that the system of our veterinary inspection is fully functional and inspectors never found any faults which could be a cause for adoption of some measures.

It’s time for production

On May we will start the fifth year of its membership in the family of the European Union states. There is enough time to get rid of almost uncritical optimism of most Czech politics and look at our problems by real eyes and to start to solve them ourselves; respectively to explain and to develop a pertinent stress on their solution. Ourselves, because we can simply relay only to ourselves. The development showed that analytical and prognostic mechanism of our responsible institutions failed. If I wanted to be a populist, I would add institutions which live from money of tax payers. Even I would name the failure as fatal for two reasons.

Czech food-processing enterprises lag behind bio-boom

Despite of fast growing demand, large food-processing enterprises still don’t supply demanded bio-foods from ecological agriculture – and many of them neither plan it. A detailed questionnaire inquiry has found out it. It was published by the Movement Rainbow at time when people buy food for Christmas holiday. The ecological organization investigated if big bakeries, dairy-works, producers of smoked meat products, or processors of fruit and vegetable and others plans to acknowledge a growing demand of Czech households.

Associations want to talk in permission of other operation of power stations

Two South-Moravian civil associations ask so that they could participate in a process in which it is decided on a prolongation of operation of the Nuclear Power Station Dukovany. Their participation in management was repeatedly refused by the State Office for Nuclear Safety (SONS) with an explanation that the only participant is according to a nuclear law an operator, so ČEZ. The association claims that it contravenes engagements of the Czech Republic resulting from the Aarhus agreement. Therefore, the associations filed a resolution against the verdict. If the Office does not recognize it, they will appeal to a court, their representatives said today to journalists.
