Australia will forbid plastic bags. New York want to recycle them

Australia is going to join an ecological trend focused against plastic bags which still more significantly contaminate the environment and it will forbid their use in large shops. It was announced today by a new Australian Minister of Environment Peter Garrett who added that the ban should come in force at the end of this year. The City Council of New York set out in other way and made a decision on Wednesday according to which big shops will be obliged to secure a system of recycling of plastic bags.

New giant ski centre will grow in Jeseníky, MŽP agreed

A new giant ski premises will grow on slopes Dlouhé stráně in Jeseníky. The Ministry of Environment (MŽP) after a long negotiation announced that agree with the building in the protected area. So at Christmas 2009 skiers can look forward to the longest ski slopes in Jeseníky where they will be able to get , besides tows, on three four-seat funiculars and one six-seat funicular. A Central-Moravian issue of Mladá Fronta Dnes informs on it today. “We are glad to have finally made it. The standpoint of Environment is the most important basis for a building approval”, Michal Kestl from Olomous firm K3 Sport, which will build the premises, said to the daily.

Gandalovič: CR will support free trade with GMO foods

CR will support free trade with genetically modified varieties of food (GMO). The Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič said to journalists yesterday. The European Union has to enable import of GMO till the 11th of January according to decision of the World Trade Organization (WTO) otherwise it is in danger of international actions. “We will support so that trade with approved genetically modified food would be open in frame of the EU. If other member state want to reduce trading with GMO, the CR will stand out against this ban”, Gandalovič said. “However, if a member country of EU wants to reduce growing of genetically modified varieties on its territory, the CR will not object to it.”
