Madeta agreed with cooperative on price of milk

Representatives of the biggest inland dairy works Madeta negotiated on Friday with the Dairy cooperative Jih on a milk price. “We agreed on a price for February”, a general director of Madeta Milan Teplý reported. Price of milk for which Jih will deliver it to Madeta is not known. “The Office for Protection of Competition issued new rules for the year 2008 according to which is not possible to publish these data”, Zdeněk Houška from Dairy cooperative Jih explained. He added that negotiations on milk price and conditions of a contract of purchase for a next period continue.

Price of wheat breaks records

Wheat on Asian stock markets reached record prices on Monday. A main cause of price increase of food commodities is an interest from side of speculative investment funds which promise good yields of wheat even in time of inhibition of global economics. A term price of wheat which will be delivered in May was 11,53 dollars for bushel in Sydney (approximately 27 kilograms). So, it has increased by 25 percents since the end of January. On the crucial Chicago stock exchange CBOT wheat also moves over 11 dollars.

Union discomforts farmers, it goes against nature

Mild winter and daily temperatures moving about ten degrees of Celsius make worry to growers of perennial cereals and rape. Farmers usually at this time started gradually to side-dress growths. However, according to regulation of the European Union they don't have to use nitrogen fertilizers till the end of February. If they break the ban, they could lose subsidies. In past mild winters farmers from Olomouc region started to supply nutrients to perennial wheats and rapes. “However, now it is forbidden to side-dress the growths during winter period”.

Wastes draw firms; it is dealt with a business for billions crowns

Still bigger amount of increasing wastes and also prepared changes in laws lead to an investment boom in this branch. Towns and firms want to invest billions in liquidation and use of wastes. A new Logistic Centre started to operate in Vsetín. The centre processing wastes serves to about seventy thousands of people and a council house invested two hundred million crowns in it. Similarly as Vsetín also Krnov wants to invest in a centre of wastes; the centre should cost hundred million crowns. Moreover, building of tens of bio-gas stations and compost plants are being prepared throughout the country. Here rubbish will be used for production of heat and electricity.
