Higher prices of food increased last profit of Swiss Nestlé

The biggest world food group Nestlé increased a net profit by 15,8 percents to 10,65 billion of Swiss franc (165,7 billion crowns) thanks to higher prices last year. At the same time Nestlé introduced an expansion plan on so called young markets to secure a future growth. Total takings of the concern increased by 9,2 percents to 107,55 billion francs last year.

Europe lags behind

Meat production in the European Union is hit by a crisis for a longer time. Bad prices of beef meat don't secure settlement of production cost; in case of pork we are witnesses of free fall which ends in decrease of population by tens percent in our country. Nevertheless, also poultry meat is declining. Its production decreased last year by 4,8 %.

Milk disappears from accounting

Farmers “wash hands” over this announcement. The same as dairy-men also farmers would like to know more about so called milk losses on which a chairman of the Bohemian-Moravian Dairy Union Michal Němec informed press. Jan Veleba reacted to the announcement of the Dairy Union, that the Union had reckoned the “loss” to 36 million liters of milk in the last year's first half-year which had been exported obviously by means of subdealers, by a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič.
