French president Sarkozy promises support of agriculture
The president Sarkozy alleged that so called CAP Health Check will be one of main priorities of French presidency of the EU Council from July 2008. France has different opinions of the reform of Common agricultural policy than the EU Agricultural Commission. French president Nicolas Sarkozy said that audit of state and functioning of the Common agricultural policy, so called CAP Health Check, will be one of the main priorities of French presidency of the EU Council which starts from the 1st of July 2008.
Period of vegetation repose ended
The Ministry of Environment and Czech Inspection of Environment warn that this year's period of vegetation repose has finished regarding present climatic conditions. Municipalities, manager of communications and all the others who plan or planned cutting of trees should take in mind this fact. A period of vegetation repose usually lasts from the beginning of November till the end March. However, one cannot dictate to the nature. This year's mild winter and the period of vegetation repose are most probably after us. Trees started to prepare new leaves and bloom and birds become to settle their nests.

European Parliament expressed disagreement with behaviour of chains
The CR Agrarian Chamber very welcomed conclusions of Monday's plenary session of the European Parliament interpreted by its chairman Hanse Gert Pöttering. All 439 Euro-representatives signed a declaration which challenges to remedy of chains' behaviour on European Market. They misuse their power and push disproportionately food prices down. “Often it is under production costs, thereby quality of milk and meat products is decreasing”, Jan Veleba from the Agrarian Chamber CR said.
