Bursík negotiated building of road R55 in Morava
The Minister of Environment Martin Bursík met with chief magistrates from South-Moravian region and region Zlín in Uherské Hradiště and discussed building of expressway R55 in Slovácko. Minister Bursík said that his office was going to solve objections of the European Commission without delay. The European Commission has sent a formal notice to the Czech Republic that the line, for which concurrent attitude of EIA had been issued, under a marking variant B, conflicted with European instructions for preservation of nature Natura 2000 in apart of line which led through the bird area Bzenecká Doubrava Strážnické Pomoraví.
South-Moravian fishermen begin to haul
South-Moravian fishermen begin to haul next week. Everything is set ahead by warm weather; usually spring hauls start by two week later. A fishery Třeboň, the biggest producer of limnic fish in Europe, plans to get about 200 tons of market fish till the beginning of April. It is almost tenth of year product ion. “Roughly two thirds are determined for export before Eastern”, a technician of the company Aleš Kříž said today to ČTK. Already on Tuesday fishermen from Třeboň will cast nets in the biggest in-spring-hauled pond named Ponědražský which has 141 hectares. The haul will take two days. On Wednesday they will work in Jamský pond (43 ha) near a municipality Branná and also here fishermen who manage on 540 ponds with acreage 8250 hectares, will stay two days. After that till Thursday they will haul a pond Potěšil with 75 hectares near a municipality Klec.
Municipalities refuse wind power stations
Who stand in the way of big plans of investors for building of wind power stations in the Czech Republic are above all small municipalities. Their inhabitants often do not agree with the building of vanes in surrounding of their houses. Therefore firms offer fairly big money for the agreement with the building. Meanwhile the latest town which refuses offers of investors is Vítkov in Opava region. “From an inquiry among inhabitants as well as from a public discussion it is obvious that they don’t wish the power station”, vice-chief magistrate Oldřich Vícha reported. An opinion of inhabitants was everted neither by a vision of fairly big financial injections in their municipality’s budget.
Farmers harvested record gain of almost 14 billion crowns
Czech agriculture achieved a record gain 13,7 billion crowns last year. The result was published by the Czech Statistic Office on Friday. Besides annually increasing subsidies, also intense increase of farmers’ prices of cereals, oil plants and other commodities after last year’s harvest contributed to the extraordinary profit which is almost double compared to the foregoing year. The Agricultural Union was more pessimistic in their estimations – it expected a profit 12,5 billion crowns.
