Bio-fuels influence price of foods but not so much
A press conference devoted to bio-fuels questions met with enormous interest of media. It was organized by the Agrarian Chamber CR last Wednesday in its Prague central. Journalists are used to go there at press conferences which are always mono-topically focused and they discuss at one table with participants who come from a basic industry, a processing industry, sometimes also from an educational system or a research. It has one advantage for them. After a certain piece of information they do not have to search for opponents or players from this given spectrum related with the topic. Main players, specialists for the given topic, usually sit at one table. This time it was a general director of the company ČEPRO Pavel Švarc, a general director of TTD Dobrovice, and a vice-president of Agrarian Chamber CR Oldřich Reinberger and Martin Kubů, a director of the division of bio-fuels from holding Agrofert.

We are interested in rise of family farms, Topolánek said
According to the premier Mirek Topolánek, subsidies from a program focused on a preliminary termination of agricultural activity will support development of family farms in which a grange is handed over from generation to generation. “I very welcome this (endowment) title because it enables to maintain agricultural production in a village coming over from a father to a son in his retirement. We are interested in rise of family farms, so that there would be a relation to the land, and so that it would return what there was before collectivization”, Topolánek said to journalists today.
