National additive payments to direct supports
More than seven billion crowns for almost 25 000 applicants is proposed for this year by the Ministry of Agriculture for national additive payments. A novel of statutory order which was submitted today by the minister Petr Gandalovič governs administration of system of providing national additive payments to direct supports from 2008 and further. Above all the additive payments will direct in agricultural sectors disadvantaged by a system of unified payment per area of agricultural land; compared to last adjustments administrative load will be substantially lowered.
Wines which consumers drink in EU mostly contain pesticides
Wines which come on tables of EU consumers mostly contain pesticides harmful for human health. Hereat, it is dealt with wines coming from world-known vineyards. It results from a report presented by non-profit organization Pesticide Action Network (PAN) Europe. Organization tested 34 European wines from conventional agricultural production. It found pesticides in all; even in one sample “cocktail” of ten various pesticides. Five of them the European Union inserted in a list of substances which cause cancer and which have a negative influence on human reproduction and hormonal systems.
Still more and more forests are in the Czech Republic
Even if ecologists fight against cutting trees and concreting land owing to other highways and super markets, acreage of Czech forests has never been in last hundred years paradoxically as large as this year. It is proved by actual numbers of the Ministry of Agriculture. From a statistics it results that last year in the Czech Republic almost 2,65 million hectares of all land was covered by forests which is the most since Austria-Hungary times. Specialists suppose that the acreage of forested land in the republic will further grow.
Breweries do not prepare rise in beer price; according to Association it is sure
Fifty industrial breweries will further keep the present prices of beer which they generally changed at the turn of the last and this year. They prepare rise in price only exceptionally. According the Czech Beer and Malt Association it is unavoidable due to growth of barley price. When beer will be more expensive and by how much can not be meanwhile predicted, according to an executive manager of the Association Jan Veselý.
