International Grains Council expect record harvest of wheat in 2008

In new agricultural year (June 2008 - July 2009) the International Grains Council (IBG) expects a record harvest of wheat. Wheat production should achieve 646 mil. tons which is by 42 mil t. more than in 2007. Climatic conditions in areas of perennial wheat growing in EU and CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) stay favourable; certain worries in the USA are caused by a lack of rains in southern areas; in China the harvest can be damaged by strong frosts.

Application in reserve tenders of LČR can be submitted still one week

Interested persons have only one week for submission of offers in contractual proceedings for so called medium-term commissions for forestry works for period of years 2008 - 2010. A spokesman of the state enterprise Lesy České republiky (LČR) Radek Drahný noticed it and added that applicants can submit the offers in the LČR seat in working days from 8 to 5 p.m. o'clock, and a deadline for the offers is the 8th of April 2008 at 1 o'clock p.m. In his opinion LČR announced six public commissions for forestry activities during February. Five of them, was announced with sale of wood in a locality P; one with sale of wood in a locality OM.

Recently price of eggs has significantly grown on world markets which has an influence on food production in this area. For following period rather decrease in price of eggs is expected which would influence price movement in the monitored food branch. This fact reflects in a demand for this kind of goods. At present many factors show themselves which influence price of eggs in such a way that they can cause for some time even significant changes of prices. Owing to price fluctuation there are changes in advantageous position on the market.
