Salesmen sale among cheeses also their substitutes

If you buy cut processed cheese, it really pays off to read properly from what it is produced. Among real cheese also a substitute from plant oils can appear. However, when a salesman warns of this fact, he/she does not break any rules. A Consumers Defence Association drew attention to the problem. According to it similar products do not have place among the real cheeses and it is dealt with deception of a consumer. In salesmen's opinion it is not dealt with anything unfair and Czech consumers should beware themselves what they buy.

We eat cheap meat which Germany does not want

Almost a half of meat which we import is cheap cuttings, especially from Germany. Local customers after several scandals connected with bad meat concentrate much more on quality and suddenly there is a surplus of meat products of lower quality on German market. So, they export it for dumping prices. Also in the Czech Republic. “In 2006 we imported over 115 thousand tons in total of pork. A year after it was almost 130 thousand tons. Roughly 46 percents from this amount fall just on the meat of less quality, so called trimmings”, Pavel Krejčík, a director of the National Sale Cooperative Centroodbyt confirms.

EP committees dealt with protection of environment

A Committee for Environment negotiated on this problem. It dealt with treatment with wastes. A Committee for Legal Affairs judged a possibility of criminalization of acts with a serious impact on environment. The problems of wastes treatment belong among important challenges of the present. Every year almost two billion tons of waste come into being in Europe which represents about three and half tons per one inhabitant. If industrial, agricultural and building waste is subtracted from this sum, one inhabitant of the EU would produce at average 530 kilograms rubbish yearly.
