Bursík is guest of break conference of USA governors on climate

The vice-premier and the Minister of Environment Martin Bursík participates today and tomorrow in two-day conference of American governors at the world-known university Yale where a ratification of a break call to American president candidates for a fight with a climate change is expected. A spokesman of the Ministry of Environment CR Jakub Kašpar informed on it.

SZIF spent maximally endowment program “Horizontal Plan of Rural Development”

At the end of March the State Agricultural Intervention Fund (SZIF) paid off the last financial means from resources of the program Horizontal Plan of Rural Development (HRDP). A head of Department of External Communication of SZIF Vilém Frček informed on it. According to his data only 445,79 CZK remained as an unexpended balance from the total sum 19 646 170 483,92 CZK which was partially used also to pay a Special Pre-accession Program for Agriculture and Rural Development (SAPARD). The Czech Republic by means of SZIF spent financial means obtained from the European Union in maximal possible rate.

Festive opening of Forestry nature trail Sokol

A Forestry nature trail Sokol tomorrow - on Friday the 18th of April - at 10 o'clock will be opened on slopes of the hill Sokol upon Petrovice near Jablonné v Podještědí. Two-kilometer round trace under the top of hill Sokol will make visitors acquainted with management in forests in Lužické hory. A motto of the natural trail is: “We did not get forest as inheritance after ancestors but as a loan from descendants”.

“Killing” plastic on shelves

According to an association Arnika wrappers from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), in which meat products, spreads, ice creams and some other milk products are sold very often, are the most harmful for human health. In many studies it was found out that by release of so called phtalates or adipates from PVC foods were contaminated”, Miroslava Jopková from Arnika said. Phtalates and adipates are esters of organic acids. They are added in plastics to increase elasticity. Reputedly they can release any time.
