From tomorrow it is possible to vaccinate against bluetongue
On base of extraordinary veterinary measures which the State Veterinary Administration CR (SVS) enounces from 29.4. from 00 o'clock breeders can vaccinate against virus of sheep catarrhal fever of serotype 8. Josef Duben, a spokesman of SVS informed on it today and added that the mentioned measure comes in force so that our breeders can trade in frame of the EU, eventually so that they could export cattle in non-member countries. “This extraordinary measure SVS CR announced because due to an unfavourable infection situation the EK decided on an emergency vaccination in countries where the catarrhal fever had occurred, e.g. in France, Germany; it is expected presently also in Great Britain and also in the CR.
We lag behind the world in meat
The president of Agrarian Chamber CR Jan Veleba introduced theses at a seminar on meat which took place in time of a fair Techagro in Brno. By means of them he compared production trends of animal production at home and in the world. He warned against other decrease of numbers of farm animals. On case of pigs he documented reducing production which decreased from 1990 to 2007 from 4,8 million to 2,8 million pieces and in case of cattle from 3,5 million to 1,39 million pieces. According to the president of Agrarian Chamber it is dealt with a dangerous phenomenon when overhang of plant production over animal production means a lower production finalization.
Wood-engraver swarming started with warm; foresters are full emergency
With coming of warm weather swarming of dangerous pest wood-engraver started in these days and forests are in danger of calamity. Therefore foresters are in full emergency and are prepared to catch the wood-engraver in first swarming in catchers and traps. A head of department of forest economy and forest protection of the state Enterprise Lesy České republiky (LČR) Ladislav Půlpán said it to ČTK. LČR owns about a half of forest in the country. Many wood-engravers prepared for spring swarming is according to foresters' estimations at the level of 90's when the Czech Republic was attacked by the last big wood-engraver calamity.
Brussels will protect South-Moravian niva
The European Commission most likely will recognize a right of South-Bohemian Madety for cheese Zlatá niva by protected geographical mark. Servers Finanční noviny and aktuálně.cz informed on it with reference to the Euro-representative Jan Březina. Niva will be the first Czech cheese which will obtain the protection. “According to my information from the European Commission a time in which it was possible to enter protests against the protection has expired. So, nothing is in the way to bestow a certificate on protection of the mark South-Moravian Zlatá niva”, the Euro-representative Březina said.
