FAO will introduce food perspective
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) will publish a food perspective in Roma today. Representatives of OSN, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund in connection with the present food crisis agreed on creation of a special commission at the end of April which is called to fight with the crisis. The General Secretary of OSN Mr. Ki-mun declared that measures should not only to provide an emergency help in time when the crisis broke out but it has to go farther.
Tesco sells mouldy eggs
Some shells were overgrown with mould; others were cracked. Disgusting. Just such a view was offered to Iveta Bezděková when she opened eggs bought in Tesco in Teplice. “It was dealt with a package of 18 pieces. After unpacking at home I founded out that eggs are mouldy, so I set off back in Tesco to return or change the eggs. When I heart from a cashier that eggs are mouldy only from above, I insist on that I did want them. Than the cashier called a chief”, Iveta Bezděková tells. The chief wanted me to give him a bill.
Chocolate containing sterols decreases cholesterol level
Chocolate products containing both plant sterols and flavanols from cocoa can be in context of balanced nutrition a mean to maintain suitable cholesterol level and blood pressure. Researches from the University of Illinois in cooperation with a company Mars Inc. in frame of realized research founded out that consuming of chocolate containing plant sterols and cocoa flavanols can decrease cholesterol level in blood and blood pressure.
Test of MF DNES showed old wine in shops
A test of rose wine brought a surprising conclusion: shops offer too old and ill wines which should have been drunk a long ago. “The wine is over zenith, in pension, closely before death, after death, a disaster...” Such (and even harder) statement fell from mouths of jurymen to the address of rose wines from Moravian and Czech vineyards. Among eighteen samples which the editor's office put forward to evaluate more than half should not be offered any longer fore sale. It is dealt with wine of older years whose the best years (if they had them at all) have passed a long ago.
