Vets prevented from sale of contamined fish
The State veterinary supervision founded out in time an excess amount of polyphosphates in fish delivery. As a spokesman of the State Veterinary administration CR (SVS) Josef Duben informed today thanks to this fact the delivery of 552 kg of fish (codfish) did not got in market network and customers were not endangered. Bodies of the Regional Veterinary Administration for South-Moravian region sampled filets from the gadoid fish (blue whiting) in the place of destination, so in the place where a delivery will come from other member state. From this place the goods is than distributed further in the market network.
World Milk Day
A meeting of experts, politicians and journalists on the occasion of the International Milk Day takes place on the 27th of May in Parkhotel in Prague. The celebration of “World Milk Day” (also “International Milk Day) falls on the fourth Tuesday in May which is on 27.5.2008 and it will take place in the CR in the hotel Parkhotel where experts, politicians and journalists will meat. Since 2007 milk deliveries for processing have increased in Europe which has been caused by favourable weather and by increase in prices to farmers. There is still a lack of milk in the north of Europe. A proposal of the Commission for increase of milk quota by 2 % from April 2008 (i.e. in total 2,84 mil. t of milk) was passed in March 2008.
Gandalovič: Aim of law on animal protection is not to punish dog owners
A proposal of novel of the law on animal protection against torture does not introduce punishments for owners of free running dogs. Rules for free movement of dogs are governed by municipalities on base of an instruction. They have this possibility already from the 1st of March 2004. The prepared novel does not change anything in that. In concurrence to some misleading information, which in connection with approval of the novel by the government last week appeared in mass media, it was mentioned by the Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič.
Agrofert cut Setuza from rape. Firm does not pay invoices
Setuza in Ústí has to solve an unpleasant problem. A top producer of oils and bio-fuels has a lack of important raw material – oil rape. Agrofert Holding owned by a billionaire Andrej Babiš has stopped his deliveries of this important raw material owing to unpaid invoices. The information was brought by the server Týden.cz. According to its information the height of debt is about 200 million crowns. Setuza does not deny that it has problems to pay them.
