Czech farmers “pour out” German milk on fields
Czech farmers by pouring out German milk on fields want among others to support their German colleagues in fight for higher buy-out prices. According to today’s announcement of the Agrarian Chamber most of Czech milk production indicated for export will not cross borders. Farmers want to achieve, so that German chains would dispense their requirements. A core of dispute is height of the buy-out price. German farmers, similarly as Czech ones, face a dictate of trade chains. They pushed price for one liter of milk to 25 – 35 Euro cents whereat farmers want 43 cents so that the production would be profitable.
Sugar jumped up
The biggest increase in a period of last months was recorded in price of sugar on ICE Future exchange; evidently because of view of increasing demand. It started to grow after prices significantly decreased in foregoing weeks. Only in May price of futures for sugar go down by fifteen percents in a reaction to surplus of the worldwide production over demand. However, regarding less prices as well as coming of summer season when consumption of ice cream increases, again increase of consumption is expected.
Příbram will use bio-waste for recultivation of sludge bed after mining of uranium
Grass and wooden chips from cleaning of public open space and parks in Příbram does not end on a dump. “The town has them composted since the last year’s end and it will use the resulting mass for recultivation of long-term neglected sludge beds after mining of uranium in a locality Bytíz”, Petr Kaneš, a vice-mayor said to ČTK. “A Plan of waste management of the town Příbram obliges us to solve expertly problems of composted wastes by the year 2008.
Dutch ecologist wants to make solar big power from the Czech Republic
If plans of Netherlandish businessman Ad van Wijk fulfill, the Czech Republic will become a solar big power comparable with Spain. Van Wijk who has competed for a title of the best world entrepreneur wants to build several solar power stations near Brno with a total area 150 football playgrounds. “We negotiate with a Czech partner who wants to buy from us solar panels with a total operation 40 megawatt”, van Wijk said in an interview with MF DNES last week in Monte Carlo. His firm Econcern deals with all which is connected with renewable power resources.
