Gandalovič approved conditions of subsidies for program LEADER CR 2008
From the 21st to the 25th of July interested people – so called local action groups – can submit applications for subsidies from the program LEADER CR for 2008 whose opening was approved by the Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič yesterday. A spokesman of the ministry Petr Vorlíček informed on it. For this year 50 million crowns is earmarked for financing of the program. “Last year fifty seven local action groups applied to it. Twenty four of them were supported. They got a chance to realize their intention and to choose projects on its sphere of activity”, the Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič said.
More than half million cubic meters of wood fell
According to first estimations a windstorm which hit the Czech Republic in the night from Wednesday to Thursday damaged at least a half million cubic meters of wood in state forests. In comparison with March windstorm Emma it is dealt with almost quarter damage. “The enterprise expects that after improved value the damages will be higher” a spokesman of the state enterprise Lesy ČR Radek Drahný said yesterday. A half of forests in the country belongs to the enterprise. According to the latest estimations the wind damaged forests in eastern Bohemia, in Vysočina, and in Beskydy. “The most afflicted is the region Pardubice with 160 000 cubic meters of wood”, Drahný said.
Price of rock-oil has exceeded for the first time 140 dollars per barrel
A main reason for growth of rock-oil prices was news that Lybie is going to reduce rock-oil mining. Nevertheless, increase in prices was also influenced by a belief that probably interest rates will not be increased for several months in the USA. Prices of rock-oil on world markets accelerated the growth rate yesterday and a barrel of referential type West Texas Intermediate (WTI) has got for the first time at all above 140 dollars. The agency Reuters informed on it in Thursday. According to a main economist of Patria Finance, David Marek, so expensive rock oil only deepens inflation problems all around the world.
Mini-brewery in Ostrava has probably brewed the first buckwheat beer
The Castle mini-brewery in Ostrava-Zábřeh has probably brewed light gluten-free beer as the first in the Czech Republic. “Nine-degree non-filtered beer is ideal for refreshment in hot summer days as well as it is suitable for all who are allergic to gluten”, a brewer Václav Baron said to journalists on the occasion of a baptism of the first batch of unique special beer today. “Buckwheat beer is produced in very small volumes for example in Germany and England. In our country it is a premiere; Czech gluten-free beer is not on the market”, the brewer added.
