This year´s September is again by the name of ecological agriculture

Already the fourth year also this year September will be the Month of bio-food and ecological agriculture. It is an ideal opportunity to introduce domestic bio-foods and principles of their production to the public. Tens of ecological farms, producers, businessmen and bio-food sellers all over the Czech Republic already traditionally engage in the action September – the Month of bio-food and ecological agriculture. The aim of campaign, in frame of which almost 100 events took place last year in the CR and thousands of visitors participated in, is to inform on principles and rules of ecological agriculture as many people as possible. The campaign should make people to taste bio-foods and to make certain by own eyeballs of management of ecological farmers.

In the week till the Tuesday the 15th of July consumption potatoes as well as caraway bread and crystal sugar cheapened the most in Czech shops. Vice versa tomatoes, quality white wine and wheat smooth flour rose in price the most significantly. It results from an analysis of regular investigation of consumers prices of selected foods published by the Czech Statistic Office (ČSÚ) today.

A dilemma which Indians have to solve can be summarized in the only question: How to keep reputation of growing economic super-power and at the same time to fulfill hungry stomachs of undernourished inhabitants? According to the World Food Program the country is home of 350 million of the undernourished. So, almost of the third people suffering from starvation. The plans how to distributed food aid are the most extensive in the world.

Gold times of margarine have ended, however, people do not return to butter

“The fact that rise in price of margarines came in time when butter is relatively expensive have also an effect on their sale”, a spokesman of stores Albert and Hypernova Libor Kytýr answers a question whether they monitor a decrease of customers after rise in price of Rama. Generally, butter is sold less by about a third than margarines. However, according to available data number of consumers of butter substitutes decreases in the long term. Last year was an exception only thanks to situation with butter favourable for margarine. “During last five years consumption of margarines decreased. However, not in favour of butter but new categories of products – cheese spreads and slicing cheeses”, Kytýr from Ahold confirmes.
