Attitude of ČMSM towards a proposal of MZe to terminate program School milk

These days a proposal of the Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič, which should solve a program School milk in following period, is prepared to be discussed in the government. In case of passing the whole program should terminate to the 30th of June 2009. This week the Food Chamber of CR expressed in its statement a disagreement with this step and it also communicated reasons which lead it to that. The Czech-Moravian Dairy Union (ČMSM) has the same opinion of the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture to cancel the program School milk as the Food Chamber, including all facts introduced in its attitude. However, it is essential to complete some other data.

Haymaking of margarine has ended; people do not come back to butter

When butter raise in price precipitantly to forty crowns per brick last year, margarine producers smiled under breath. Instead of butter a part of customers switch to its substitutes – however, now the sides turned. Margarine leveled its price with butter and its haymaking has ended, at least meanwhile. Customers react to the price of basic foods where both the products belong very sensitively. Butter started to rise in price last year in September and it reached the top before Christmas when customers stop to buy it.

Diesel in the Czech Republic? The fourth most expensive in Europe

The fourth most expensive diesel in Europe is filled in gas stations in the Czech Republic. At the end of this week one liter of diesel was for 34,77 crowns; only drivers in Great Britain fill more expensive diesel, one liter for about 39 crowns, in Norway for 38 crowns, in Sweden for 35,80 crowns and in Italy for 35,80 crowns. It results from data of German web pages Clever-tanken and German Central Auto-moto-club. In comparison with neighbouring countries Austrian drivers pay for a liter of diesel by about two crowns less than in the Czech Republic. In Poland they safe 1,4 crowns on one liter, in Slovakia 90 hallers and in Germany 20 hallers

.Agriculture in danger? Bees die out

Bee-keepers and farmers and in final consequence also inhabitants not only in the region Mladá Boleslav can have serious problems. In the region Mladá Boleslav, similarly as somewhere else, a number of colonies which are essential for pollination of flowering crops intensively decreases. With a lack of bee colonies in consequence of insufficient pollination of crops an amount of produced fruit and some kinds of vegetable could intensively decrease. Apart from a lack of Czech honey and other bee products. Therefore councilmen of the town Mladá Boleslav decided on a necessary support of local beekeepers battling with a big death of weakened bee colonies at their regular negotiation on Thursday the 17th of July.
