Educational foothpath will show how drinking water is produced

North-Bohemian Water Supply Company (SVS) prepared an educational footpath dedicated to water supply, concretely production of drinking water in premises of a water preparing plant in Bedřichov. Visitors of the plant and surrounding nature can get to know on a process of transformation of raw water in drinking water on twenty boards. It is dealt with a first project of this type in the region. „It is dealt with the first educational footpath SVS in frame of the region Liberec. Generally we use existing cycle-paths or touristic routes in surrounding of our water-works for placing of educational boards devoted to production of drinking water and wastewater treatment. This time the educational footpath is placed along a fence of the water preparing plant premises“, Petr Skokan, a chairman of SVS directorship told.

Food inspection will get light on stum

The State Agricultural Inspection started annual checks of stum sellers. Similarly as in last years it will focus above all on sellers of false beverage from adulterated grape cider. So called eked out of stum is the same as addition of water in wine illegal. Results of the first samples will be known at first in half of September, Alena Hegerová from SZPI told. Last year 14 from 62 stum samples failed to meet laboratory checks, so roughly every fourth.

Again more cereals from Australia

Australia is one of the most significant cereals exporters in the world. Drought last year caused a significant fall in harvest on this continent. In this season it is possible again to count on a significant growth of volume of exported cereals of Australian origin. The most important cereal in the region is wheat; according to estimations of Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABARE) areas of acreage of almost 14 million hectares were sown with this plant which represents a new record value.

How to continue in use of bio-fuels

At the beginning of this years´ holiday a confidential release by the World Bank was published according to which production of bio-fuels contributed to the worldwide increase in food prices from 75 %. Than ministers of EU member countries responsible for environment and energetic disavowed the worldwide aim to use of bio-fuels in transport. A legislative proposal of the European Commission aim of which was to increase a share of bio-fuels to 10 % till 2020, was, according to them, interpreted badly and it should be referred to all renewable resources, not only to bio-fuels. It would be possible in the ten-percent aim to count also hydrogen and electric drive.
